PURPOSE: To update the participants on new drugs that have recently entered the market

OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this seminar, the participant should be able to:

•   Name six new drugs that recently have received FDA approval that are or likely will be prescribed/dispensed from their practice and list their dosage forms
•   Review the disease states where these medications are being used
•   Compare and contrast their role in practice with existing medications prescribed for similar indications
•   Discuss dosing, cautions, side effects, and primary points of patient education for these medications
•   Forecast on the drug utility compared to other similar medications
